Who can be considered an author? The journal adheres to The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and their recommendation that the author:

1. Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND
2. Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; AND
3. Final approval of the version to be published; AND
4. Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Please note that, for manuscripts with more than one author, the submitting author will be the contact person for all communication with the journal during the peer-review process and proofreading, should the manuscript be accepted for publication and put into production.

It is presumed that contributors are designated authors only if they meet the requirements for authorship detailed in the guidelines of the Norwegian National Research Ethics Committees and the Vancouver Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work.

If persons who cannot be designated authors have contributed to the article (for example, by collecting data), such persons and their contributions should be credited, for example, in a footnote. All forms of support should also be credited (for example, funding information).
